What is a load bank and what is it mainly used for?
A load bank is an electrical testing device that simulates real-world electrical loads to evaluate the performance, stability, and load capacity of power equipment. It allows engineers to test equipment under controlled load conditions without relying on the actual end-use load.
Depending on the electrical system being tested, load banks can be used for generators, UPS systems, DC power supplies, battery packs, DC charging piles, photovoltaic inverters, and power distribution equipment. Typical applications include load testing, aging testing, discharge testing, capacity verification, and performance validation.
By reproducing defined load conditions, a load bank helps identify issues such as unstable output, insufficient load capacity, or abnormal performance before equipment is put into operation. VILVA provides AC, DC, high-voltage, rack-mounted, liquid-cooled, and other load bank configurations for different testing requirements.
